EVEN A DEVOTED scratch baker will be impressed with Cissé Trading Co.’s baking mixes ($8.99), which turn out desserts that taste homemade. Tender double chocolate-chip cookies with dark-chocolate chips are among the selections, as are deep, fudgy brownies, and dark chocolate-y cakes and muffins. The two-year-old Westchester, N.Y., company also offers a line of hot cocoa mixes in semisweet, dark chocolate with cinnamon, and milk chocolate with vanilla bean ($1.59 to $1.79 for 1.25 ounce packets). Award-winning pastry chef Jenny McCoy developed the recipes, which are made with Fair Trade cocoa powder from a Dominican Republic organic cooperative.
